3 Ayod boys go missing while herding cattle

Three boys have gone missing while herding cattle in Ayod County of Jonglei state since Tuesday, a local official said.

James Chuol Jiek, the Ayod County commissioner, told Radio Tamazuj on Friday that the boys, aged between 8 and 15, were herding about 36 cattle in the outskirts of the Wau area and did not return home since Tuesday afternoon.

“There were three boys. They were grazing their 36 head of cattle in Wau Payam when they went missing,” he said.

The county commissioner suggested the boys might have been abducted and that local youths have since been following footprints in a bid to recover the boys and the cattle.
