Sudan authorities cut off bridges ahead of protests

Sudanese authorities began closing off roads and bridges in the capital from midnight on Tuesday, ahead of a planned million-strong march against last month’s military coup. The military announced the closure of four out of ten main bridges connecting the capital Khartoum to neighbouring cities Bahri and Omdurman, as the “resistance committees” called for a mass demonstration in the capital on Wednesday.
